Getting Around

The Catskills are a rural area with limited public transportation, and rideshare services like Uber and Lyft can be limited and unreliable. We strongly recommend having access to a car during your stay, whether driving from home or renting one upon arrival. Please do not plan to rely on rideshare services for transportation throughout the weekend.

On the day of the wedding, transportation to and from Foxfire will be provided for guests staying off-site. Pickup locations and shuttle times will be shared closer to the wedding.

By Car

From New York City, plan for approximately 2.5 hours by car, with additional time for Friday summer traffic.

By Bus from NYC

Trailways offers direct bus service from Port Authority Bus Terminal to Phoenicia, just a few minutes from Foxfire. The trip takes approximately 3 hours. From Phoenicia, you’ll need to arrange transportation to your accommodations.

By Train

There is no direct train service to Mount Tremper. Amtrak serves nearby Hudson Valley destinations, but you’ll still need a car to reach the Catskills. For guests traveling from NYC, we recommend driving or taking the direct bus to Phoenicia instead.

By Air

For guests flying in, there are several airport options. We recommend renting a car at the airport for the drive to Mount Tremper and to make getting around throughout the weekend easier.

Albany International Airport (ALB)
Approximately 1.5 hours by car
Albany is the closest of our recommended airports and a great option for guests who can find a convenient flight.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)
Approximately 2–2.5 hours by car
A convenient option for guests who want to avoid driving through New York City.

LaGuardia Airport (LGA)
Approximately 2.5 hours by car
Allow additional travel time for NYC traffic, particularly on Friday afternoons.

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
Approximately 2 hours 45 minutes by car
JFK offers a wide range of domestic and international flights. Allow additional travel time for NYC traffic, particularly on Friday afternoons.

Foxfire Mountain House has a limited number of rooms available on the property, which we have reserved for select members of our immediate family and wedding party.

We will reach out directly to those guests with accommodation details.

For all other guests, we’ve gathered a selection of nearby hotels, inns, and rentals we recommend below. We encourage booking accommodations early, as summer weekends in the Catskills can fill up quickly.

For guests staying off-site, transportation to and from Foxfire Mountain House will be provided on Saturday. We’ll share designated pickup locations and a detailed shuttle schedule closer to the wedding.
